undpaul is now officially listed on the DeepL Partner Marketplace
Undpaul is now officially listed on the DeepL Partner Marketplace. Being included in the Marketplace is another step in our ongoing work since 2018 to integrate the DeepL API into the Drupal Translation Management (TMGMT) ecosystem.
What is TMGMT?
The Translation Management Tool (TMGMT) is the central translation framework for Drupal. It enables multilingual content to be translated in a structured manner – either manually, by internal teams or by external translation services such as DeepL. TMGMT manages the entire process: from selecting the content to be translated and creating orders to review workflows and automatically importing the final translations. This makes it an indispensable tool for complex multilingual websites.
From the initial idea to the established TMGMT plugin
In May 2018, the first prototype of our TMGMT DeepL module was created – based on the structure of the tmgmt_google module and with the aim of making DeepL directly usable in the familiar TMGMT workflow. Since then, the module has been gradually expanded and adapted to the growing capabilities of the DeepL API.
Today, it supports, among other things:
- multilingual glossaries
- transfer of a translation context for more accurate results (version 2.3.x)
- document translation - e.g. DOCX, PPTX, PDF (version 2.3.x)
- DeepL API Free & Pro accounts
The move to the official deepl-php library, from version 2.3.x onwards, has also established a robust and forward-looking technological foundation.
Acceptance in the Drupal community
The module currently has around 3,300 reported installations on drupal.org and is used in various Drupal projects. These range from smaller websites to large multilingual platforms.
Deep integration with TMGMT enables structured translation processes, including review workflows, and supports editorial teams in the efficient maintenance of complex content models.
Collaboration with DeepL
Continuous work on the module led to a more direct exchange with DeepL itself in early 2024. This collaboration gave us early insight into new API functions and technical changes. Since December 2025, undpaul has been officially listed as a DeepL integration partner.
For Drupal projects, this means:
- reliable, API-compliant integration
- in-depth expertise for multilingual content architectures
- direct communication channels with DeepL for technical issues
Outlook
We and other members of the Drupal community will continue to develop the module in the future and align it with new DeepL capabilities.
We are available as a technical partner and for consultation of organisations that want to integrate DeepL into Drupal or modernise existing translation processes.
