Greater efficiency through platform consolidation
Before the relaunch, the setup was a highly complex system of 11 separate Drupal sites, a central content hub, and an external media server. Synchronizing text and media content caused considerable problems, and just as much frustration for the global team.
We analyzed this system thoroughly and concluded that a single platform for all domains, languages, and media management was the most sensible solution: scalable and efficient for every team worldwide.

This project was more than a technical redesign. It completely transformed the way Sumitomo organizes and presents its online presence. Despite the global and cultural challenges involved, the result is a system that sets a benchmark in both engineering and design. The rigorous application of best practices, extensive automation, and a clear focus on usability make this project a model for other multinational companies.
Improved editorial work and software quality
To build a future-proof digital infrastructure, we modernized several key areas. The outdated digital asset management (DAM) system was replaced with a secure, intuitive one that makes editorial work considerably easier.
Modern standards were also established in the development process and in code management: reliable configuration management, regular security updates, and the consistent application of coding standards now ensure high code quality and system security.
In the editorial workflow, new features such as a content preview and clearly labeled content components bring more transparency and efficiency, noticeably improving collaboration across the global editorial team.
